Barcelona Powers Quantum Chip Development with Nanofabrication Hub
Spain has launched a dedicated Quantum Nanofabrication Area at IMB-CNM, the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona within CSIC. Backed by PERTE Chip funding and Next Generation EU resources, the facility brings electron-beam lithography, nanoscale patterning and cleanroom-level device manufacturing to Spain’s quantum hardware ecosystem. The hub supports fabrication of quantum chips and nanodevices, rapid prototyping for research groups and industry partners, and precision metrology tailored to quantum materials.
QuARC-CSIC: Unifying Spain’s Quantum Research Power
To consolidate national expertise, CSIC has established QuARC-CSIC, the Quantum Advanced Research Center headquartered in Madrid.
